SharpDevelop is an Integrated Development Environment whose purpose is to help users complete their .NET development projects by using various coding formats, such as ASPS, CD, BOO, CS, EDMX, XML, SRD, or SDPS.
After you downloaded and completed the regular installation process, you are greeted by a balanced and smart built GUI, with several panels and a decent-looking default theme. Though it does come packed with a few customizations, they don't manage to suffice entirely every user needs. Not to mention that, at some point, users may get bored of using the same default theme.
Once you get used with the interface and start using the program, you discover that it offers a wide range of supported formats, like ASPS, CD, BOO, CS, EDMX, XML, SRD, or SDPS.
The programs can be developed using various programming languages, such as Boo, IronPython, IronRuby, VB.NET, C#, or F#.
In addition to those mentioned above, SharpDevelop has an integrated code debugger, which can be used to determine why a program doesn't function properly.
To sum it up, SharpDevelop is a free and effective tool for creating software in different languages, while using multiple coding formats. However, though the response times are very well optimized, it does miss a word completion feature and an indentation guide.
